Rotary and Rotaract Club of Gokarneshwor Successfully Organized a Free Eye Camp
On 28th May 2026, the Rotary Club of Gokarneshwor, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Gokarneshwor, successfully organized a Free Eye Camp at Shree Saraswati Women’s School, Shanti Batika, Gokarneshwor. The community service project was conducted with the objective of providing accessible and quality eye care services to local residents while promoting awareness of the importance of regular eye examinations.
The eye camp was conducted with the generous technical support of Nepal Medical College, whose experienced team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and healthcare professionals volunteered their expertise throughout the day. The program received an overwhelming response from the local community, with more than 150 people benefiting from free eye examinations, vision screening, consultations, and professional advice on maintaining healthy eyesight. Individuals requiring further treatment were referred to appropriate medical facilities for follow-up care.

The success of the program was made possible through the dedication and teamwork of volunteers from both the Rotary Club of Gokarneshwor and the Rotaract Club of Gokarneshwor. Members worked tirelessly by registering patients, managing the flow of participants, assisting the medical professionals, and ensuring that the event was conducted smoothly and efficiently. At the conclusion of the camp, the organizing committee presented Letters of Appreciation to the medical team from Nepal Medical College and to Shree Saraswati Women’s School in recognition of their valuable support in providing medical services, venue facilities, and furniture for the event.
After successfully completing the eye camp, members of both clubs traveled to Green Hill Resort, Bhotechaur, for a fellowship retreat and picnic. The retreat provided an excellent opportunity to relax, celebrate the success of the service project, and strengthen the bonds of Rotary fellowship. Members enjoyed a delicious barbecue, shared meals, participated in fun games, danced, sang, took memorable group photographs, and created social media reels capturing the joyful moments of the day.

The program beautifully reflected Rotary’s commitment to “Service Above Self.” By combining a meaningful community health initiative with fellowship and teamwork, the Rotary Club of Gokarneshwor and the Rotaract Club of Gokarneshwor once again demonstrated their shared dedication to improving lives, strengthening community partnerships, and creating a lasting impact through service.
